The consumption and use of protein supplement by some people who are frequently into sport is very common nowadays. One of the most used supplements is the BCAA. We can find BCAA in several foodstuff and nourishment in a natural way and, within a varied diet, they can also meet their own basic needs. What I want to show through this work is to see if this supplement has an influence in the gains of muscle strength. To fulfil it, a prospective case-control study has been done with a sample of 19 healthy adults who were programmed in a hypertrophy training of an hour and a half for three and four times a week. For both groups it was provided an additional weigh of 6 and 18g of BCAA, before and after the strength training. The information was collected thanks to some 24h reminders, and the information about the physical aptitude was summarized through strength and a perception of effort’ test. Also, the anthropometric information was collected before, during and after the end of the study. Furthermore, the results were studied in a statistic way. However we can see an improvement in people’s physical and healthy conditions, there’s not an improvement of the statistic information in the increase of muscle strength for the groups complemented with BCAA.ca_ES
