| ca_ES |
dc.description.abstract | This paper presents the results of a quantitative study of all the court judgments (N=221) pronounced by the Spanish Provincial Courts on human trafficking that exists in the CENDOJ database from 2011 to 2019. The aim of the research is to know the number of judicial cases of human trafficking and their typology to compare them with the data reported by studies of prevalence. Among the results, most cases are for international trafficking (99%) for the purpose of sexual exploitation (85%). The defendants are mostly foreigners (92%) and there is a significant number of women. Victims are female (90%) and foreign (98.6%). A 33% of the judicial cases end in acquittal. The main conclusion is that the results show an over-representation of cases of trafficking for sexual exploitation where the victim is from a foreign country. | ca_ES |
