dc.description.abstractAdvanced product quality planning (APQP) is a framework of procedures and techniques used to develop products in industry, particularly in the automotive industry. The purpose of APQP is "to produce a product quality plan which will support development of a product and process that will satisfy the customer”. The programme described in this work shows how through a good time management, resources management and teamwork, a product can be achieved without any error and of unmatched quality, which will allow the company to lead the world in its sector. The domain of APQP gives a competitive advantage to organisations and sectors that dominate the methodology set out in the work. APQP basically consists of four phases. In the first phase is intended to understand product requirements and define the quality activities plan. The second phase consists of assuring a detail design according to a first draft production concept. Third phase target is to define and develop the production process according to the product requirements. Fourth and last phase consists of validating both product and process from a first sample production. Once defined the methodology and it background is also explained, this work goes through a deep analysis on what does APQP need for being integrated in an any industry organization daily work, what are the benefits of implementing it and how are it costs tracked. Moreover, one of work’s goal is to demonstrate that APQP can also be implemented in the different sectors from the automobile one, and that’s why a market research has been done in order to figure out the application range of the methodology. In the end, after a complete understanding of what does APQP consist of, which are its advantages and disadvantages and what does it stop from being widely integrated in industry, final conclusions are made.ca_ES
