The objective of this work was to study separately in Hostien-Friesian parous cows and heifers if antibody titres against N. caninum in herds with a high incidente of abortion associated with this parasite can be used as an indicator of the risk of abortion. The likelihood of abortion was 3.2 times (1/0.31) lower for parous cows with low antibody titration against Neospora caninum (<30 units) as compared to those with high antibody titres (>30 units), whereas in heifers this variable had no effect. The practical recommendation of the present study is the priority of culling for parous cows with higher levels of antibody titration against N. caninum.
