Experimental data on porcine leptin receptor genotype classes [Research data]
MetadataShow full item record
The dataset contains the experimental data associated to the publication “Antagonistic maternal and direct effects of the leptin receptor gene on body weight in pigs”. The phenotype and the LEPR genotype in each individual is given for a series of traits including carcass weight, backfat thickness and loin thickness (sheet 1), weaning weight and number of piglets born alive and weaned (sheet 2), milk fat content (sheet 3), age at first parity (sheet 4), total feed intake (sheet 5) and circulating triglycerides (sheet 6) and total free fatty acids (sheet 7).

Genetic correlation estimates often support a negative relationship between direct and maternal effects. ...
Leptin receptor and fatty acid desaturase-2 gene variants affect fat, color and production profile of dry-cured hams Suárez-Mesa, Rafael; Ros Freixedes, Roger; Tor i Naudí, Marc; Reixach, Josep; Pena i Subirà, Ramona Natacha; Estany Illa, Joan (Elsevier, 2020-12-03)The effects of LEPR (rs709596309C>T) and FADS2 (rs321384923A>G) single nucleotide polymorphisms on production and quality attributes in purebred Duroc dry-cured hams were examined.
