An ultrasound study was conducted in 20 metapodes (14 from forelimb and 6 from hindlimb), at the level of the third proximal palmar/plantar aspect, in young animals (less than 1 year) of 'Cavall Pirinenc Català' breed, a meet horse from Spanish NE part. There were not statistically significant differences between values of thicknesses of each structure (superficial digital flexor tendon, deep digital flexor tendon, distal accessory ligament) between fore and hindlimbs. In half of specimens the distal accessory ligament was not present in the hindlimbs. The values of superficial and deep tendons were statistically superior on the left group tan on the right, surely as a result of the motor lateralization in this breed.
