An homoclinal shifting process that affected the Paleogene series of Les Guilleries and Collsacabra massifs in NE of Ebro basin is analyzed. This pro- cess was initiated by the reactivation of the Amer Fault. A anac linal s tream incised on the fault scarp accessing the least resistant paleogene
units. The result was the formation of strike valleys. The most important is La Plana de Vic. It has been reconstructed the route of the headward erosion of the ana- clinal stream through remnants of ancient strike streams flowing into the basin sink, and its cataclinal tributaries draining the cuesta. During the homoclinal shifting three incisions on a large anticlinal structure in the north (Bellmunt Anticline) and the incision on the Montseny massif in the south w ere made. The last of the incisions into the Bellmunt Anticline reached by headward erosion an older longitudinal drainage network with the headwa- ters in the axial Pyrenees. The result of the homoclinal shifting process was the capture of older drainage basi ns a nd the formation of the current drai- nage basin of river Ter.
