Vegetation dynamics in montane grasslands at Sant Jaume de Frontanya (Eastern Pyrenees). The study of the anual biomass variation of grasslands from Sant Jaume de Frontanya (Alt Bergueda, Barcelona), besides the analysis of phenological differences among communities, show that they are phased out, and adopt different models of development according to the degree of mesophily. The greatest variability in fresh weight among communities is related to exogenous factors, and the constancy in the increase of dry weight, to the combination of both exogenous and endogenous factors.

Phenology and plant functional type dominance drive CO2 exchange in seminatural grasslands in the Pyrenees Ibañez, Mercedes; Altimir, Núria; Ribas Artola, Àngela; Eugster, Werner; Sebastià, Ma. T. (Cambridge University Press, 2020)Understanding the mechanisms underlying net ecosystem CO2 exchange (NEE) in mountain grasslands is important to quantify their relevance in the global carbon budget. However, complex interactions between environmental ...

(Springer Verlag, 2011)Given the importance of root dynamics for soil C storage, the aim of this study was to analyze first the seasonal dynamics of belowground productivity and then the short-term effects of grazing exclosure on root dynamics ...
