Cicero in the Late-Medieval Tractatus Nauticus
MetadataShow full item record
Allusions to Cicero in the late-medieval tractatus nauticus. The Middle Ages is presented as far removed from the development of the sciences, focusing instead on religious aspects. One of the disciplines that had been turning into a science through the Classical World and the Middle Ages was navigation. Numerous tractatus nautici, written towards the end of the Middle Ages, have survived. These attempt to describe systems and navigational techniques based not only on mathematics and astronomy, but also on philosophy. The philosophy of Cicero’s is a recurrent question in these works.

Calcium-binding proteins, neuronal nitric oxide synthase, and GABA help to distinguish different pallial areas in the developing and adult chicken. I. Hippocampal formation and hyperpallium Suárez, Juan; Dávila, José Carlos; Real, M. Ángeles; Guirado, Salvador; Medina Hernández, Loreta Mª (Wiley, 2006)To better understand the formation and adult organization of the avian pallium, we studied the expression patterns of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), calbindin (CB), calretinin (CR), and neuronal nitric oxide synthase ...
Development of neurons and fibers containing calcium binding proteins in the pallial amygdala of mouse, with special emphasis on those of the basolateral amygdalar complex Legaz, Isabel; Olmos, Luis; Real, M. Ángeles; Guirado, Salvador; Dávila, José Carlos; Medina Hernández, Loreta Mª (Wiley, 2005)We studied the development of neurons and fibers containing calbindin, calretinin, and parvalbumin in the mouse pallial amygdala, with special emphasis on those of the basolateral amygdalar complex. Numerous calbindin-im ...

Ángeles; Olmos, Luis; Legaz, Isabel; Medina Hernández, Loreta Mª; Guirado, Salvador (Wiley, 2005)We analyzed the development of immunoreactive expression patterns for the neurotransmitter -aminobutyric acid (GABA) and the calcium-binding proteins calbindin, calretinin, and parvalbumin in the embryonic and postnatal ...
